Dear friends,
Today, sitting at home with a cup of coffee in my hand, I find myself immersed in a whirlwind of thoughts. The news continues to flow on recurrent earthquakes in a land that I had to flee long ago, since the great disaster of the year 79, under the reign of the emperor Titus .
Memories come back like breaking waves.
It was in Pompeii, a city where I had lived a very different life, centuries ago. The mountain that dominated our horizon, Vesuvius, seemed then asleep, but it taught us a tragic lesson that still resonates today through time.
I wonder what these repeated tremors might mean. Is it simply the earth waking up again or something more sinister that is weaving under the surface?
